Resumo: The civil construction sector is responsible for most of the environmental impacts, but also has the potential to mitigate these ones and promote sustainable development. The sustainability practices application at the construction site and the effort to obtain environmental certifications and constructive quality seals are activities of favorable ascendancy for this progress. This work aims to evaluate the impact of environmental certifications on civil construction companies in the Metropolitan Region of Curitiba/PR, based on the empirical study of variables associated with sustainability practices at the construction site. An exploratory and quantitative study was carried out with data from questionnaires applied to professionals from 87 companies operating in civil construction in the Metropolitan Region of Curitiba/PR. The data study was carried out through theoretical basis, application of the Survey method and multivariate statistical discriminant analysis. The results showed greater dissemination of sustainability practices in certified companies, with 73% of these companies performing all discriminating practices in this study. Among the most significant practices were the waste correct disposal, waste separation, collection, rainwater treatment and reuse, in addition to the materials reuse. Therefore, the fact that the company has some type of certification, whether related to quality or environmental issues, had a positive impact on its sustainable practices, since the procedures for obtaining certification impose specific criteria to be met.
