Resumo: | The qualification of the suppliers' performance is crucial for supply management in health facilities, especially those of high care complexity, such as cancer treatment. The purpose of this study was to analyze the contributions of the use of project management tools in the implementation of the Medicine Supplier Qualification Program (MSQP). A single case study was carried out at a national reference public institution for oncology. The implementation phase of the MSQP, until the feasibility analysis of improvement strategies, took place in 2022. To implement the program, the PMBOK® guide was used and the CEK model (Canvas-EAP-Kanban) was applied. Document analysis and participant observation were performed, and the data was interpreted using the explanation construction technique. The CEK model proved to be not very complex and feasible to implement, being considered adequate for this type of project. The effectiveness of the program pointed to the need to adapt work routines, which may require human and financial resources. As the continuous improvement of product and service quality is a commitment of health facilities, the implementation of MSQP should be stimulated in public health facilities in Brazil. The results of this study are relevant to filling the gap arising from the scarcity of studies on the implementation of the program in health institutions, thus contributing to academia and public service managers in the process of qualifying their suppliers. |
