Project Management by Pmbok Guide: Challenges for Managers

Resumo: | This article reports on research that found, among the difficulties and facilities mapped in the literature, what and why they are present or not in the process of project management based on the PMBOK Guide. Given a list of successes and failures, we attempted to verify the arguments made by managers who experience managing projects. The study focused on professionals with PMP certification for presenting the knowledge in Project Management based on PMBOK and, being a growth area where companies seek professionals with best practices and competitive advantage. Taking advantage of the structured questionnaire as an instrument of data collection, the main results and generate successes and failures are mainly: the length of experience of managers that handle project management, difficulties encountered by managers in their professional practice, such as project based on insufficient data, change in organizational structure and lack of leadership in the project; were also identified, the area of the PMBOK more difficult to be managed, such as the area of quality, risk and cost. From these results was performed semi-structured interview, allowing better understand the data presented. Showed that the project management presents some difficulties in the practice of professional managers, need to investigate the impact that the PMP certification gives project managers the relationship and organizational maturity and experience in project management is a success factor for the project. |

Verificamos quais os possíveis argumentos que os gestores vivenciam no gerenciamento de projetos no que diz respeito aos sucessos e fracassos apresentados. O estudo se concentrou em profissionais com certificação PMP por apresentarem o conhecimento em Gerenciamento de Projetos com base no guia PMBOK e, por ser uma área de crescimento onde as empresas buscam profissionais com melhores práticas e vantagem competitiva. Valendo-se do questionário estruturado como instrumento de coleta de dados e analisando os resultados, os principais pontos encontrados dizem respeito ao tempo em que os gerentes lidam com gerenciamento de projetos, as dificuldades encontradas pelos gerentes em sua prática profissional, a área do PMBOK com maior dificuldade de ser gerenciada, os itens que geram sucessos e fracassos nos projetos. A entrevista semi-estruturada evidenciou que o gerenciamento de projetos apresenta algumas dificuldades presentes na prática profissional dos gerentes.
