Resumo: This thesis aims to understand the role of the Peasant Women's Movement and agroecology in the process of recognition and emancipation of its members in Santa Catarina, especially those living in the western region of the state. The construction process involved both the exploration of various bibliographical sources and the use of interviews and speeches (testimonies) from peasant women using a qualitativequantitative methodology. Initially, questions related to agroecology and its concept are addressed. As usual, these were developed based on writings by the most relevant researchers on the subject, but we have sought to include the related understanding of the peasant women, also presenting their considerations based on their knowledge, (re)constructed daily and historically. The relational richness of this knowledge is seen as they are placed side by side, resulting in a rich complementarity of knowledge. We address the interfaces between agroecology and the environment, traditional wisdom, resistance to the hegemonic system, social movements and the COVID-19 pandemic, highlighting the connections, possibilities and importance of agroecology today. We also analyze Axel Honneth's Theory of Recognition and the importance of the Peasant Women's Movement and agroecology in the process of recognition and emancipation of its members, proving its relevance in this important process for peasant women. Next, we look at the Peasant Women's Movement and present the main influences on its formation and consolidation, its historical process, structure, main milestones, principles and importance today. Among other things, we highlight the great achievements that peasant women have accomplished as a result of the Movement's struggle. Finally, we sought to understand peasant women. To do this, we analyzed the development of the western region of Santa Catarina and address theoretical questions about the peasantry and peasant women. We present a variety of quantitative data on various aspects of the reality of peasant women, indicating some possibilities for future research.

Finalmente, buscamos compreender as mulheres camponesas. Submitted by Juliana Correa (juliana.correa@unioeste.br) on 2023-11-23T17:39:24Z No. of bitstreams: 1 Wladimir Teixeira Schuster 23.pdf: 11005672 bytes, checksum: fd65a9ac38e7523d80b8cf5caffe96b0 (MD5)Made available in DSpace on 2023-11-23T17:39:24Z (GMT).
