This study aimed to identify the perception and environmental behavior of family farmers about the impact of the use of pesticides of illicit origin for sustainability in Western Paraná. Therefore, conducted in a descriptive study, which consisted of a literature review with research studies and documents, monitor or verify that it has been published worldwide, especially in Brazil, on the investigated theme, identifying as the main variables used . Although most of the selected studies involve a sustainable use of pesticides, it was found that only 1% of the publications address the use of illicit pesticides in Brazil, unrelated to the evaluation and environmental behavior of employees for these substances. . . For the collection of related data, the perception and environmental behavior of farmers on pesticides of illicit origin, the adapted VAPERCOM de Brandalise (2008) model was applied. It is found that family farmers in western Paraná have a high possibility of becoming ecological, with high environmental perception and strong, about the stages of the LCA of a product, discrepant the weak ecological profile for pesticides of illicit origin. However, economic issues related to prices and costs, the lack of knowledge about the identification of these products and the highly detrimental effects on human health, as well as the environment, may be the main causes of their use in the researched region. use of elaborate projects of awareness and technical deepening on the theme for the family farmers of western Paraná.
