Resumo: New studies about management and human behavior analyze spirituality as an indispensable variant, since this element seems to intermediate the behavior of people in a process of perception, internal interpretation, and action within companies. In this way, spirituality, by influencing in human behavior, drew attention to the possibility of relating to organizational commitment. Thus, the verification of such a relation seems to make sense, because, once there is that supposed relation, this would benefit the management of people with information not possible to be obtained before, and which could serve as a basis for more assertive and focused on the individuality of people decision making process. Thus, in order to create affective ties with the organization, it is necessary to have a certain motivation, conditions for that feeling to surface, that motivation may be in the spirituality that refers to possible elements necessary to favor the occurrence of affective feeling with the company, leading the person to commit to the organization. In this way, we sought to analyze if there is a relation between spirituality and organizational commitment in the face of the general objective of the study in analyzing the relation between spirituality and organizational commitment in the vision of the employees in the commerce sector in the city of Foz do Iguaçu – PR, Brazil. This study had a descriptive and quantitative character with cross section in the year 2017. The data collection instrument for spirituality was the WHOQOL-SRPB questionnaire and, for affective organizational commitment, the one proposed by Meyer, Allen and Smiths, being scales tested and validated in Brazil. The survey method was used to collect the data, where the population surveyed were people who work in commerce in the city of Foz do Iguaçu – PR, Brazil, in a sample of 403 respondents who had access to the questionnaire through a link provided on the internet by the method of convenience. After the data collection, which received statistical treatment, the data were analyzed and discussed, as well as the conclusions were presented. From the results it was observed that there is a relation between spirituality and organizational commitment, which is generally moderate, significant and positive, concluding that the greatness associated with both dimensions behaves in the same sense, that is, spirituality increases or is increased by organizational commitment. The spirituality factors most related to the organizational commitment were felt in life, totality and integration, and hope and optimism, presenting correlations 0,532; 0,512; 0,536; respectively, at the level of 0,01.

Dessa forma, a espiritualidade, por influenciar no comportamento humano, chamou a atenção para a possibilidade de relacionar-se com o comprometimento organizacional. Assim a verificação de tal relação parece fazer sentido, pois, uma vez que haja essa suposta relação, isso beneficiaria a gestão de pessoas com informações antes não possíveis de se obter, e que podem servir de subsídios para tomada de decisões mais assertivas e centrada na individualidade das pessoas. Assim, ao passo que para se criar laços afetivos para com a organização, se faz necessário que haja certa motivação, condições para que tal sentimento aflore, essa motivação pode estar na espiritualidade que remete a possíveis elementos necessários para favorecer a ocorrência de sentimento afetivo para com a empresa, levando a pessoa a comprometer-se com a organização. Dessa forma buscou-se analisar se há relação entre a espiritualidade e o comprometimento organizacional diante do objetivo geral do estudo em analisar a relação entre a espiritualidade e o comprometimento organizacional na visão dos trabalhadores do setor do comércio na cidade de Foz do Iguaçu – PR, Brasil. Este estudo teve caráter descritivo e quantitativo com corte transversal no ano de 2017. O instrumento de coleta de dados para espiritualidade foi o questionário WHOQOL-SRPB, e, para comprometimento organizacional afetivo o proposto por Meyer, Allen e Smiths, sendo escalas testadas e validadas no Brasil. Fez-se uso do método survey para levantar os dados, onde a população pesquisada foram pessoas que atuam no comércio na cidade de Foz do Iguaçu – PR, Brasil, em uma amostra de 403 respondentes que tiveram acesso ao questionário por meio de um link disponibilizado na internet pelo método de conveniência. Após o levantamento dos dados, que receberam tratamento estatístico, foi feita a análise e discussão desses dados, bem como apresentadas as conclusões. Dos resultados constatou-se que há relação entre espiritualidade e comprometimento organizacional, sendo esta de maneira geral moderada, significativa e positiva, concluindo que as grandezas associadas a ambas dimensões comportam-se no mesmo sentido, ou seja, a espiritualidade aumenta ou é aumentada pelo comprometimento organizacional.
