Resumo: | OBJECTIVE: This essay presents some particularities and contributions of traditional Chinese medicine and its therapeutic body practices to the Brazilian context. The objective is to present the benefits and potentialities of the concept of body movement present in therapeutic body practices associated with traditional Chinese medicine, especially in qigong and its school of wuqinxi.DEVELOPMENT: It is an essay whose theoretical basis defends the argument that qigong is based on a concept of movement that is not tied to the principle of physical effort and exhaustion, presenting a concept of therapeutic body practice that is more appropriate to the context of health. The work originated the following categories of analysis and discussion: 1 - Traditional chinese medicine and body practice, which exposes some specificities of the way in which medical rationality approaches the body, health and body practice; 2 - Body practices of traditional Chinese medicine, which presents some notions, techniques and contributions of taijiquan and qigong body exercises in the context of human health; 3 - The game of five animals, which exhibits some principles and benefits of wuqinxi qigong body practice; 4 - Contribution of traditional Chinese medicine to the field of body practices, which exposes a conception of body practice that is not compatible with the principle of physical effort and exhaustion; 5 - Favorable factors for the applicability of qigong, which highlights the main advantages of using this technique in public health spaces in Brazil.CONCLUSION: Traditional Chinese medicine and its therapeutic body practices present techniques and principles that can contribute to a particular way of dealing with the body and with care through movement. Therefore, it is opportune to promote these practices in the context of public health, in order to contribute to the promotion of the health of the Brazilian population. |

O objetivo é expor os benefícios e as potencialidades da concepção de movimento corporal presentes nas práticas corporais terapêuticas associadas a medicina tradicional chinesa, sobretudo no qigong e sua escola do wuqinxi. DESENVOLVIMENTO: Trata-se de um ensaio cuja base teórica defende o argumento de que o qigong se baseia numa concepção de movimento que não se atrela ao princípio do esforço e esgotamento físico, apresentando uma concepção de prática corporal terapêutica mais adequada ao contexto da saúde. O trabalho originou as seguintes categorias de análise e discussão: 1 - Medicina tradicional chinesa e prática corporal, que expõe algumas especificidades da maneira como está racionalidade médica aborda o corpo, a saúde e a prática corporal; 2 - Práticas corporais da medicina tradicional chinesa, que apresenta algumas noções, técnicas e contribuições dos exercícios corporais de taijiquan e qigong no contexto da saúde humana; 3 - O jogo dos cinco animais, que exibe alguns princípios e benefícios da prática corporal wuqinxi de qigong; 4 - Contribuição da medicina tradicional chinesa para o campo das práticas corporais, que expõe uma concepção de prática corporal que não se compatibiliza com o princípio do esforço e esgotamento físico; 5 - Fatores favoráveis para aplicabilidade do qigong, que destaca as principais vantagens da utilização desta técnica nos espaços de saúde pública no Brasil. CONCLUSÃO: A medicina tradicional chinesa e as suas práticas corporais terapêuticas apresentam técnicas e princípios que podem colaborar para uma maneira particular de lidar com o corpo e com o cuidado através do movimento.
