Therapeutic itinerary and chronic disease: necessary approaches to Physical Education

Resumo: BACKGROUND: Therapeutic itinerary can be defined as the search for health care by the subject from the individual and sociocultural dimensions. Thus, the objective of this essay was to analyze the importance of understanding the notion of therapeutic itinerary by Physical Education professionals to work with chronically ill patients.DEVELOPMENT: This text was anchored on concepts and theoretical and methodological references from the fields of Anthropology and Health. The notions of illness, disease and sickness were rescued in order to relate them to the approach of the therapeutic itinerary in the scope of professional intervention in Physical Education. The perspectives of line of care and care path were also used in order to problematize the body practices for people with chronic diseases.CONCLUSION: It highlighted the importance of the Physical Education professional to stick to the notion of therapeutic itinerary to intervene with body practices. It discussed the professional competence to share the biomedical and sociocultural rationalities that each practitioner goes through in life. It progressed with the urgency of the interdisciplinary problematization about the integral care of the person with chronic disease who performs body practices. Finally, it was suggested a reflexive and relational deepening between the Physical Education professional and the practitioner based on their therapeutic itineraries.

Assim, o objetivo do presente ensaio foi analisar a importância da compreensão da noção de itinerário terapêutico por parte de profissionais de Educação Física para atuar com doentes crônicos. DESENVOLVIMENTO: Esse texto se ancorou em conceitos e referenciais teórico-metodológicos dos campos da Antropologia e Saúde. Foram resgatadas as noções de illness, disease e sickness a fim de relacioná-las à abordagem do itinerário terapêutico no âmbito da intervenção profissional em Educação Física. Foram utilizadas também as perspectivas de linha de cuidado e de trajetória assistencial com o intuito de problematizar as práticas corporais para as pessoas com doença crônica.CONCLUSÃO: Destacou-se a importância do profissional de Educação Física se ater à noção de itinerário terapêutico para intervir com as práticas corporais. Discutiu-se a competência profissional de comungar as racionalidades biomédicas e socioculturais que atravessam a história de vida de cada praticante. Avançou-se na urgência da problematização interdisciplinar sobre o cuidado integral da pessoa com doença crônica que realiza as práticas corporais. Por último, foi sugerido um aprofundamento reflexivo e relacional entre o profissional de Educação Física e o praticante com base em seus itinerários terapêuticos.
