Resumo: This paper examines public policies addressed to indigenous peoples in the Brazilian Amazon region, with a focus on the cultural and territorial preservation and empowerment of these communities. It explores the main government initiatives implemented to ensure the rights of indigenous peoples, emphasizing the importance of their active participation in policy formulation and implementation. It also analyzes the challenges faced, such as land invasion, environmental degradation, and inadequate infrastructure. However, it highlights the resistance and resilience of indigenous peoples in defending their rights and striving for sustainable and inclusive development in the Brazilian Amazon. Furthermore, it is paramount to detach the need for an intercultural approach through public policies, recognizing the ethnical, and cultural diversity of indigenous peoples. It implies respect for their ancestral wisdom, sustainable management of natural resources, and promoting activities aligned with their tradition and values. It is essential to highlight that the struggle for indigenous rights is a collective responsibility. Only through a joint commitment, guided by social justice and sustainability, will it be possible to build a future in which indigenous peoples can live in harmony with their territory, preserving their identity and contributing to Brazil's cultural and environmental richness.  This study aims to promote an understanding of the significance of indigenous public policies and encourage the implementation of actions that contribute to the well-being and autonomy of these communities. Keywords: Amazon; Indigenous Peoples; Public Policies.

Keywords: Amazon; Indigenous Peoples; Public Policies.
