Resumo: ABSTRACT: This article discusses the development of second homes around the reservoir of Salto Caxias Hydroelectric Power Plant which is located in the Iguaçu River, between the cities of Boa Vista da Aparecida and Capitão Leônidas Marques in the southwest of Paraná State. After the impoundment, which flooded areas of nine cities, the occupation of its surroundings started in 1999 driven by real estate speculation. Because of this, the reservoir and its surroundings became to be valued as leisure spot and tourism of second residence. This study, besides contributing to the debate about tourism of second residence, aims to analyze the expansion of second homes in the cities around the reservoir formed by Salto Caxias HEPP, more specifically in Cruzeiro do Iguaçu-PR. The methodology of the study was based on bibliography survey on the topic, in the search for information through site visits, informal interviews with real estate agents and in questionnaires to the owners of the second homes. The research revealed the contribution of tourism of second residences to the production of space and the (re)creation of the territory.

Este artigo aborda o desenvolvimento das segundas residências no entorno do reservatório da Usina Hidrelétrica de Salto Caxias instalada no rio Iguaçu, entre os municípios de Boa Vista da Aparecida e Capitão Leônidas Marques no sudoeste do PR. Após a formação do reservatório, que alagou áreas de nove municípios, em 1999 iniciou a ocupação do seu entorno motivada pela especulação imobiliária, passando o reservatório e suas margens a serem valorizados como espaço de lazer e de turismo de segunda residência. Este estudo, além de contribuir para o debate acerca do turismo de segunda residência, tem a finalidade de analisar a expansão das segundas residências nos municípios em torno do reservatório formado pela UHE de Salto Caxias, de maneira mais específica em Cruzeiro do Iguaçu-PR. A metodologia utilizada no trabalho baseou-se no levantamento de bibliografia sobre a temática, na busca de informações através de visitas in loco, em entrevistas informais com os agentes imobiliários e em aplicação de questionários aos proprietários das segundas residências. A pesquisa revelou a contribuição do turismo de segundas residências para a produção do espaço e a (re)criação do território.
