Resumo: Sugarcane advances in Goiás, generating concerns. The objective was to evaluate the expansion of sugarcane cultivation in Goiás. For that, in the methodology, data collection was conducted on the cultivated area, production, productivity and gross revenue of sugarcane by mesoregion in the period from 2010 to 2019 with the Brazilian Institute of Geography and Statistics - IBGE and National Supply Company - CONAB. The results showed expansion of sugarcane farming in all mesoregions of the state, highlighting the southern mesoregion with the highest planted area, production and revenue, along with the eastern mesoregion with higher yields. In the southern mesoregion, the micro-regions Sudoeste Goiano, Quirinópolis and Meia Ponte and the municipality of Quirinópolis with the highest amount produced. Sugarcane represents an important income among cultures in the Center region and is establishing itself in the North and Northwest mesoregions of Goiás. The local and regional impacts are felt in the economic aspect by the revenue generated and return to the producing municipalities, in the social aspect by the generation of employment and family income, contributing greatly to the development of the State of Goiás.

El objetivo fue evaluar la expansión del cultivo de caña de azúcar en Goiás. Para eso, en la metodología, se realizó la recolección de datos sobre el área cultivada, la producción, la productividad y la facturación bruta de la caña de azúcar por mesorregión en el período de 2010 a 2019 con el Instituto Brasileño de Geografía y Estadística - IBGE y la Compañía Nacional de Abastecimiento - CONAB. Los resultados mostraron la expansión del cultivo de caña de azúcar en todas las mesorregiones del estado, destacando la mesorregión sur con mayor área sembrada, producción e ingresos, junto con la mesorregión este con mayores rendimientos. En la mesorregión sur, las microrregiones Sudoeste Goiano, Quirinópolis y Meia Ponte y el municipio de Quirinópolis con mayor cantidad producida. La caña de azúcar representa una importante renta entre las culturas de la región Centro y se está implantando en las mesorregiones Norte y Noroeste de Goiás. Los impactos locales y regionales se sienten en el aspecto económico por los ingresos generados y retornados a los municipios productores, en el aspecto social por la generación de empleo y renta familiar, contribuyendo grandemente para el desarrollo del Estado de Goiás.A cana-de-açúcar avança em Goiás, gerando preocupações. Objetivou-se avaliar a expansão do cultivo da cana-de-açúcar em Goiás. Para tanto, na metodologia, realizou-se levantamento de dados sobre a área cultivada, a produção, a produtividade e a receita bruta da cana-de-açúcar por mesorregião no período de 2010 a 2019 junto ao Instituto Brasileiro de Geografia e Estatística - IBGE e Companhia Nacional de Abastecimento - CONAB. Os Resultados demonstraram expansão da lavoura de cana-de-açúcar em todas as mesorregiões do Estado, destacando-se a mesorregião Sul com maior área plantada, produção e receita, junto com a mesorregião Leste com maiores produtividades. Na mesorregião sul, as microrregiões Sudoeste Goiano, Quirinópolis e Meia Ponte e o município de Quirinópolis com maior quantidade produzida. A cana-de-açúcar representa importante receita dentre as culturas na região Centro e está se estabelecendo nas mesorregiões Norte e Noroeste de Goiás.
