The dissolution of Soviet Union in 1991 brings to academy a number of studies which point the reasons and consequences of that event for the international theater. From that, it’s observed some events which corroborated for the soviet fall has different weight in the decline process. The recent international paradigms of the post-Cold War world bring news perspectives about the bipolar world, which can be considered with historical revisionism. The process of dissolution of Soviet Union correspond a number of conjectural factors what led the USSR to inevitable rupture, in 1991. The economic stagnation of 70’s is attributed to erroneous measures of past decades, beyond of social paradoxes which masked deep problems in the soviet economy. The military intervention in Afghanistan, on the other hand is related to failure of political interference within the Afghan state, because this event is the end of a process that began in the 50s and culminating in the "Afghan War", in 1979. In this moment, the process of decay in the economic indicators for the developments of stagnation is added on the political and military crisis in Afghanistan, leading the USSR to almost ten years of conflict, international isolation and economic bankruptcy. Therefore, the dissolution of Soviet Union, observed from these two events, is connected to others processes conducted in front of scenarios of the period.
