Resumo: Este artigo pretende apresentar uma perspectiva de análise de festas através dos estudos de gênero. Como são construídas, apreendidas e repassadas, que sentidos e significados são edificados para as relações de gênero neste campo de lutas concretas e simbólica, nos momentos de invenção social que podem ser as festividades. Como podemos utilizar o gênero enquanto categoria de análise histórica das festas. Como lócus investigativo situaremos as festas amazônicas, sugerindo, mais precisamente, a festa do Boi Bumbá de Parintins.
