Resumo: Objective: identify so analytical the trends and formation of the authors of intellectual production in the area of knowledge of administration/management nursing conveyed in periods of Brazilian classification QUALIS international in the period 2004 to 2006. Method: The study was methodologically search for periods of nursing with classification QUALIS International A and B in site of CAPES. The production of scientific were classified according to the technique of Content Analysis. Results: The results indicated the prevalence of teachers involved as authors, were alone or in partnership with nursing care. Another fact was that most publications showed interest in the thematic as the administration/management, nursing a tendency for professional practices. Conclusion: This shows the authors' main with the transcorrer of the activities of the nurse manager and its implications for the institution to which they belong. Descriptors: Administration. Nursing.Objetivo: identificar analiticamente as tendências e a formação profissional dos autores da produção intelectual na área de conhecimento da administração/gerência de enfermagem veiculada nos periódicos brasileiros de classificação QUALIS internacional no período de 2004 a 2006. Método: o estudo ocorreu pela busca dos periódicos de enfermagem com classificação QUALIS Internacional A e B no sítio da CAPES. As produções científicas encontradas foram classificadas conforme a técnica de Análise de Conteúdo. Resultados: apontaram a prevalência de docentes envolvidos como autores, fossem sozinhos ou em parceria com enfermeiros assistenciais. Outro dado foi que a maioria das publicações revelou como interesse na temática da administração/gerência em enfermagem a tendência para a prática profissional. Conclusão: foi evidenciada maior preocupação dos autores com o transcorrer das atividades do enfermeiro gerente e suas implicações para a instituição na qual está inserido.
