Summary: Our work proposes to verify the biographical reconfigurations provoked by the changes that occurred in contemporary fiction and in the narratives of the self. Our concerns start from the countless biographies released from the end of the 1990s, in Brazil, and in the following, to the contemporary, when we perceive a rupture, which suffer alterations, which represent an emergency resulting from a reconfiguration of a new time of society, as well as a narrative rearrangement of biographies. At that moment, a growing number of biographies began to narrate the lives of characters still alive, who participated as co-authors of their own works and, not least, often being the characters and narrators of the stories of their lives. In view of this, we research biography as a symptom of contemporary society and the rise of real narratives, or – as researcher Paula Sibila (2008) states – “hunger for the real” – which affects biographical narratives, reconfiguring them. Thus, in order to understand more clearly how this happens, we will analyze the biography of the living, as accommodations of a systemic order in the mold of Niklas Luhmann (2010), since there is an emerging reconfiguration both in terms of production and reception, or that is, a potentially different model of meaning production, without a certain linearity, according to Fausto Neto (2018). In this way, we will observe the emergence of a style of biographical narratives of the living.

In this way, we will observe the emergence of a style of biographical narratives of the living.
