Resumo: In this research, we aim to analyse the occurrences of multimodal metaphors in political-religious interactions, considering the verbal variable and, specially, the gestural variable. From excerpts extracted of Evangelical Bench” (Frente Parlamentar Evangélica) members, we identified and categorised gesture to investigate the occurrences of gestural metaphors. The central discussion of this research involves the Metaphor Identification Guidelines for Gestures – MIG-G (CIENKI, 2016).

A partir de trechos extraídos de discursos de representantes da Frente Parlamentar Evangélica no Youtube, identificamos e categorizamos os gestos para, finalmente, investigar a ocorrência de metáforas gestuais.
