Team knowledge assessment of nursing on international targets patient safety in an intensive care unit

Resumo: Background e Objectives: The quality of hospital care provided to the patient and the safety of their stay at the site triggered discussions around the world after the analysis of epidemiological studies conducted in the USA that concluded the high rate of adverse events in the hospital setting Caused by professional error, with that the theme gained strength and motivated discussions about the care models applied to the patients. Therefore the research was aimed at evaluating the knowledge of the Nursing Team of the Intensive Care Unit sector of a public hospital in Recife-PE on the International Patient Safety Goals. Methods: A cross-sectional study with descriptive quantitative approach was carried out from June to August 2016. Data collection was performed through a semi-structured questionnaire that addressed the social and professional aspects of the respondents. The studied variables: gender, age, professional category and training time. The data were analyzed in epiinfo software version 3.2.2. Results: The sample consisted of 50 professionals, 18% of whom were Nurses and 82% were Nursing technicians. Most respondents scored more than 50% of questions about international patient safety goals and had more than one employment relationship. Conclusion: It was verified that the lack of training, work overload and more of an employment relationship can contribute to a precarious professional assistance. KEYWORDS: Patient Safety. Nursing. Intensive Care UnitsAntecedentes y objetivos: La calidad de la atención de los pacientes del hospital y la seguridad en su estancia, desencadenaron discusiones sobre el tema en el mundo después del análisis de los estudios epidemiológicos en los EE.UU. que era completar la elevada tasa de eventos adversos en ambiente hospitalario causado por negligencia, con este tema que ganó fuerza y condujo las discusiones acerca de los modelos de atención aplicados a los pacientes. Por tanto, el objetivo del estudio fue evaluar el conocimiento del personal de enfermería del sector unidad de cuidados intensivos en un hospital público de RecifePE en International apunta a la seguridad del paciente. Métodos: Estudio transversal con enfoque cuantitativo descriptivo, llevado a cabo de junio a agosto de 2016. La recolección de datos se realizó mediante un cuestionario semiestructurado que abordó aspectos sociales y profesionales de los encuestados. Las variables: sexo, edad, categoría profesional y tiempo de entrenamiento. Los datos se analizaron en el programa Epi Info versión de software 3.2.2. Resultados: La muestra estuvo constituida por 50 profesionales, 18% enfermeras y 82% de los técnicos de enfermería. La mayoría de los encuestados coincidieron en más del 50% de las preguntas de los objetivos internacionales de seguridad del paciente y tener más de un contrato de trabajo. Conclusión: Se encontró que la falta de formación, la sobrecarga de trabajo y más de una relación de trabajo puede contribuir a una asistencia profesional precaria. Unidades de Cuidados Intensivos.Justificativa: A qualidade de assistência hospitalar prestada ao paciente e a segurança em sua estadia no local, desencadeou discussões acerca do assunto em todo o mundo após a análise de estudos epidemiológicos realizados nos EUA que teve como conclusão o alto índice de eventos adversos em âmbito hospitalar ocasionados por erro profissional, com isso a temática ganhou forças e motivaram discussões sobre os modelos assistenciais aplicados aos pacientes. Objetivo: Avaliar o conhecimento da Equipe de Enfermagem do setor de Unidade de Terapia Intensiva de um hospital público de Recife-PE sobre as Metas Internacionais da Segurança do Paciente. Métodos: Estudo transversal com abordagem quantitativa descritiva, realizado no período de junho a agosto de 2016. A coleta de dados foi realizada através de um questionário semiestruturado que abordou aspectos sociais e profissionais dos pesquisados. As variáveis estudadas: o gênero, idade, categoria profissional e tempo de formação. Os dados foram analisados em software epiinfo versão 3.2.2. Resultados: A amostra foi constituída por 50 profissionais, sendo 18% Enfermeiros e 82% técnicos de Enfermagem. A maioria dos pesquisados acertaram mais que 50% das perguntas sobre as metas internacionais de segurança do paciente e possuem mais de um vinculo empregatício. Conclusão: Verificou-se que a falta de capacitação, sobrecarga de trabalho e mais de um vinculo empregatício podem contribuir para uma assistência profissional precária.
