Resumo: This article examines the uses of the past by individual and organizational Peronist actors in Argentina in the 1960s. Especially, the representations elaborated of two key dates of their political tradition: May Day and "October 17th", between 1962 and 1965. Through political-partisan publications, and national and provincial newspapers, the commemorations and meanings elaborated in a period of special significance for Peronism in the early sixties are investigated. The political proscription of Juan Domingo Perón was combined with participation opportunities for the so-called "neo-Peronist" parties and with the renewed power of Peronist trade unionism. Context that impregnated the actors' returns to the "history of Peronism". Any return to the past implies an irruption of the present. It is not a complete innovation. Rather, the representations and their meanings are conditioned by the preceding political struggles.

Rather, the representations and their meanings are conditioned by the preceding political struggles.
