Resumo: The article aims to analyze three representations of the Brazilian working class, present in Labor Law and Social Democracy, a collection of texts authored by Oliveira Vianna, and to establish how they functionally participated in the legitimization process of a structurally labor law model. associated with the deepening of authoritarianism and capitalism. For this, it analyzes the reception of their representations in the magazine Cultura Politica (1941-1943), questioning how the relationship between the descriptive discourse about the Brazilian working class – through the representations of a peaceful, insolidarity and marked by the absence of the struggle of classes – and their articulation as normative demarcate ideas-forces present in the Brazilian labor legal field, even today.
