STRATEGIC FOCUS AND OPERATIONAL PERFORMANCE OF THE MSE: AN ANALYZE AT DIFFERENT STAGES OF THE ORGANIZATIONAL LIFE CYCLE

Resumo: This study investigated the relationship between organizational life cycle (OLC), strategic focus (SF) and operating performance (OP) of the MSE. For this, it was adopted a descriptive research with quantitative method and data were collected from 101 MSE. The findings indicate that there is a direct relation between the stages of birth, maturity, OLC rejuvenation and decline and external SF. There is a direct relation between the OLC rejuvenation phase and internal SF. OP is related to the growth and rejuvenation phases of  OLC and relationship as the external SF, and does not, therefore, show this relation as the internal SF.

Para ello, se realizó una investigación descriptiva con método cuantitativo. Se recogieron datos de 101 MPE. Los hallazgos apuntan que existe relación directa entre las fases del nacimiento, madurez, rejuvenecimiento y declinación del CVO y el EE externo. Existe una relación directa entre la fase del rejuvenecimiento del CVO y el EE interno. El DO presenta relación con las fases de crecimiento y rejuvenecimiento del CVO y relación como el EE externo, no presentando relación como el EE interno.Este estudo investigou a relação entre ciclo de vida organizacional (CVO), foco estratégico (FE) e o desempenho operacional (DO) das MPE. Para isso, foi realizada uma pesquisa descritiva com método quantitativo. Foram coletados dados de 101 MPE. Os achados apontam que existe relação direta entre as fases do nascimento, maturidade, rejuvenescimento e declínio do CVO e o FE externo. Existe relação direta apenas entre a fase do rejuvenescimento do CVO e o FE interno.
