COMPARISON BETWEEN THE STRATEGIES ADOPTED BY THE CIVIL CONSTRUCTION INDUSTRY AND THE MANUFACTURING INDUSTRY SECTORS

Resumo: This work aims to identify the differences and similarities between the strategic characteristics of organizations in the construction industry and the manufacturing industry. The survey was based on a survey that collected data from 72 companies. The data, related to eight variables divided into three categories, were analyzed using discriminant and descriptive analysis. The results showed that the main variables responsible for the discrimination between the two sectors are: performance analysis, the adoption of process improvements, the use of new technologies and the response time to market demands.

La investigación se basó en una encuesta que recopiló datos de 72 empresas. Los datos, relacionados con ocho variables divididas en tres categorías, fueron analizados mediante análisis discriminante y análisis descriptivo. Los resultados mostraron que las principales variables responsables de la discriminación entre los dos sectores son: análisis de desempeño, adopción de mejoras en los procesos, uso de nuevas tecnologías y tiempo de respuesta a las demandas del mercado.Este trabalho objetiva identificar quais as diferenças e semelhanças entre as características estratégicas de organizações da indústria da construção e da indústria da manufatura. A pesquisa foi baseada em um survey que levantou dados de 72 empresas. Os dados, relacionados a oito variáveis dividas em três categorias, foram analisados por meio da análise discriminante e da análise descritiva.
