Resumo: There are several factors able to influence on the performance achieved by a port facility, and the geographic location is among them. The aim of this work is highlight how the access features, infrastructure and nature of cargo moved might influence the performance achieved by ports in Santa Catarina. Regarding to the methodology, this is a descriptive research with qualitative and quantitative approach with multiple cases involving secondary data collection. Finally, from information collected and the comparison carried out, we verified how São Francisco do Sul and Navegantes ports are important in the port scenery in Santa Catarina. They are detached by their set of accesses, infrastructure and cargo nature.

They are detached by their set of accesses, infrastructure and cargo nature. Hay diversos factores que pueden influenciar el desempeño alcanzado por una instalación portuaria, y la ubicación geográfica está entre ellos. El objetivo de este trabajo es evidenciar de qué manera las características de accesos, infraestructuras y naturaleza de carga pueden influenciar el desempeño alcanzado por los puertos de Santa Catarina. De acuerdo con la metodología, es una investigación descriptiva, con abordaje cualitativo y cuantitativo en múltiples casos, involucrando la colección de datos secundarios. Al fin, desde las informaciones coleccionadas y de los comparativos realizados, se hay verificado la expresividad de los puertos de São Francisco do Sul y Navegantes en el escenario de los puertos de Santa Catarina, los cuales se despegan por su conjunto de accesos, infraestructuras y naturaleza de carga.Existem diversos fatores capazes de influenciar no desempenho alcançado por uma instalação portuária, podendo-se listar entre eles, o de localização geográfica. O objetivo deste trabalho é evidenciar de que forma as características de acessos, infraestruturas e natureza da carga movimentada podem ser impactantes no desempenho alcançado pelos portos catarinenses. No que tange a metodologia, trata-se de uma pesquisa descritiva, com abordagem quali-quantitativa, na forma múltiplos casos, envolvendo a coleta de dados secundários.
