Resumo: Currently several companies are increasingly aware of the importance of having a balance between the economic development of the company and the environmental issues involved with the activity performed. Pecém Complex seeks to increase the intermodal transport of cargo in the region through the provision of infrastructure and partnerships that result in socioeconomic development for the population of the state of Ceará, in compliance with current environmental legislation and pollution prevention, and also to promoting the continuous improvement of environmental quality in Pecém Port Terminal. For this, procedures based on various monitorings, plans and environmental programs are adopted, thus establishing the good environmental quality of the area of influence of the port throughout its operation phase.

El Complejo Pecém busca incrementar el transporte intermodal de carga en la región a través de la oferta de infraestructura y alianzas que resulten en el desarrollo socioeconómico de la población del estado de Ceará, en cumplimiento de la legislación ambiental vigente y prevención de la contaminación, además de promover la mejora continua de la calidad ambiental en la Terminal Portuaria de Pecém. Para ello, se adoptan procedimientos basados en diversos seguimientos, planes y programas ambientales, estableciendo así la buena calidad ambiental del área de influencia del puerto a lo largo de su fase de operación.  Atualmente vários empreendimentos estão cada vez mais conscientes da importância de haver um equilíbrio entre o desenvolvimento econômico da empresa e as questões ambientais envolvidas com a atividade desempenhada. O Complexo do Pecém busca incrementar o transporte intermodal de cargas na região por meio da oferta de infraestrutura e de parcerias que resultem em desenvolvimento socioeconômico para a população do estado do Ceará, em observância à legislação ambiental vigente e à prevenção a poluição, além de promover a melhoria contínua da qualidade ambiental no Terminal Portuário do Pecém.
