Resumo: The appearance of certain scarecrow in the Osman Lins’ novel A rainha dos cárceres da Grécia (1976) moves this text to think the displacement of a plan of the dutch Georg Marcgrave’s map (1588), that Luis da Câmara Cascudo wrote about in Geografia do Brasil holandês (1956). This place became a walking creature in vertical line. The language through this device gains the upright that of the Word Gestalt suggests for this narrative procedure.
