Resumo: The article discusses the intersubjective processes present in Belém rock scene, state of Pará, Brazil, in the 1990s, from the trajectory of a band, the Norman Bates. We try to observe as a narrative ethos is present in the dialogue between a global music and local commitments, noting that the idea of "universal" is not necessarily a counterpoint to the idea of "local" and that this dialogue is recurrent in contemporary times, a space where cultural boundaries are blurred and hybrid, though not cease to assert itself as borders. We used in this discussion, the notions of undecidability and phantasmagoria presents in Derrida’s work. We explore the ethical and aesthetic senses of cultural dialogue, trying to describe how the Amazon cultural production takes part in this dialogue.
