Resumo: The intent in this essay is not to find the master faculty of the playwright, but that of the drama As confrarias in the context of the Inconfidência Mineira in the end of the eighteenth century, which dramatizes the difference between what men are and what they wished to be. The text unveils the inhuman procedures by those who hold power, when they stigmatize differences of color, race, gender and profession in the social practice of that time. Arbitrary rule and violence stimulate atypical characters to fight for their rights and bury their dead. Tragic irony. Both the rights and the law are at the mercy of conflicting interpretations. The semantic value of the law and the rights acquire opposite meanings, when they appear in differing ideological and political contexts. As such interpretations are publicly opposed perplexity is planted in the hearts and minds of the audience. However, as they return to their daily life, the audience forgets all possible meanings that are latent in the play. The word of the playwright springs from a situation of non-strength. It doubts of the very existence of the author as such, as it asks: who talks about me when I speak, write, publish and unveil hidden passions and the nocturnal inclinations in the obverse of the signs.

El objeto de esta comunicación no es descubrir la facultad maestra del dramaturgo, sino la de la pieza "As Confrarias" en el contexto de la Conjura Minera [del Estado de Minas Gerais] a fines del siglo XVIII, la cual dramatiza la diferencia entre lo que son los hombres en realidad y lo que les gustaría ser. El texto pone desnudos los procedimientos deshumanos de aquellos que detienen el poder al estigmatizar la diferencia de color, raza, género y profesión en la práctica social de aquel entonces. Arbitrio y violencia exasperan a los personajes atípicos llevándolos a la lucha por sus derechos de sangre y de enterrar a sus muertos. Ironía trágica. Tanto el derecho como la ley están a merced de los conflictos de interpretaciones. El valor semántico de ley y de derecho se reviste de significaciones opuestas cuando se hallan en contextos políticos e ideológicos diferenciados. Tales interpretaciones contrapuestas en público instauran la perplejidad en las mentes y corazones de los individuos durante el espectáculo. Sin embargo, al retornar a la práctica social del día a día descuidan todas las posibles significaciones latentes de la pieza llevada a escena. La palabra del dramaturgo irrumpe a partir de una situación de no fuerza. Duda él de su existencia en cuanto autor al preguntarse: ¿quién habla sobre mi persona mientras hablo, escribo, publico y desvelo la desnudez de pasiones ocultas y las vertientes nocturnas en el anverso de los signos? Cette communication a l’intention de découvrir non seulement la faculté maîtresse du dramartuge, mais la pièce théâtrale As Confrarias (Les Confréries) dans le contexte de l’Inconfidence Mineira à la fin du XVIIIème siècle, qui fait la dramatisation de la différence entre  ce que les hommes sont et ce qu’ils aimeraient être. Le texte dénude les procédés inhumains de ceux qui détiennent le pouvoir quand ceux-ci stigmatisent la différence de couleur, race, genre et profession dans la pratique sociale de l’époque. Arbitre et violence excitent les personnages atypiques à lutter pour leurs droits de sang et d’ensevelir leurs morts. Ironie tragique. Soit le droit soit la loi se trouvent à la merci des conflits d’interprétations. La valeur sémantique de la loi et du droit se revêt de significations opposées quand ils se trouvent dans des contextes politiques et idéologiques différenciés. Ces interprétations opposées en public instaurent la perplexité dans les esprits et dans les cœurs des individus pendant le spectacle. Cependant, en retournant à la pratique sociale de tous les jours, négligent toutes les significations possibles latentes de la pièce mise en scène. La parole du dramaturge germe d’une situation non forcée. Il doute de sa propre existence comme auteur en se demandant: qui parle en moi quand je parle, écris, publie et dévoile la nudité des passions cachées et les versants nocturnes dans le revers du signe.Esta comunicação visa descobrir não a faculdade mestra do dramaturgo, mas a da peça As confrarias, no contexto da Inconfidência Mineira em fins do século XVIII, que dramatiza a diferença entre o que os homens são e o que gostariam de ser. O texto desnuda os procedimentos desumanos dos que detêm o poder ao estigmatizarem a diferença de cor, raça, gênero e profissão na prática social de então. Arbítrio e violência acirram os personagens atípicos a lutarem pelos seus direitos de sangue e de enterrar seus mortos. Ironia trágica. Tanto o direito quanto a lei estão à mercê dos conflitos de interpretações. O valor semântico de lei e de direito reveste-se de significados opostos quando em contextos políticos e ideológicos diferenciados. Essas interpretações contrapostas em público instauram a perplexidade nas mentes e corações dos indivíduos durante o espetáculo. No entanto, ao retornarem à prática social do dia a dia, descuram todos os possíveis significados latentes da peça encenada. A palavra do dramaturgo brota duma situação de não força.
