This article is a clipping of the Master’s thesis research, linked to the Graduate Program, Stricto Sensu, in Society, Culture and Borders, of the State University of Western Paraná, campus Foz do Iguaçu. The central theme permeates the reflections on the visibility/invisibility of women in society based on patriarchal precepts. The study had a qualitative approach, with documentary and bibliographic research. Therefore, this article aims to discuss briefly about the role of women in history, considering the delimitation of time space in the interior of Brazil in the first half of the twentieth century, and the importance of women’s participation in spaces of power and institutionalized political decisions. It is considered relevant in this study to show that although the analyzes are focused on specific historical context, the problems and many challenges faced by women are still visible today, making a timeless systematic.
