THE RECEPTION OF MIKHAIL BAKHTIN’S ESSAYS FROM AESTHETICS OF VERBAL CREATION: TRADITION AND RUPTURE

Resumo: This article is the partial result of a bigger project that seeks to understand the reception and particularities assumed by Bakhtinian thought in Brazil since its introduction in the 1970s to the present day. For doing so, it analyzes the texts that frame the Brazilian translations and (re)translations of the Bakhtinian work, examining which dialogical (evaluative) relationships can be observed in these frame-texts: with whom they dialogue and to whom they are addressed at the time of their publication. This paper analyzes the Brazilian reception of the essays on Aesthetics of Verbal Creation, in the 1992 and 1997 editions, in the 2003 (re)translation, and also in subsequent publications, 2016 and 2017. The frame-texts of each of these editions show how reception, initially inserted in the tradition and continuity of a European and international academic scientific moment, has established itself institutionally over four decades, revealing new ways of reading and circulating the dialogical perspective of discourse in Brazil.

Para ello, analiza los textos que enmarcan las traducciones y (re)traducciones brasileñas de la obra del Círculo, examinado cómo estos textos-marco, o paratextos, introducen la perspectiva dialógica, dialogan con la misma y a quién se dirigen en el momento de la publicación. En este trabajo, observamos la recepción brasileña a los ensayos de Estética de la creación verbal (Estética da criação verbal, en portugués), en las ediciones de 1992 y de 1997, en la (re)traducción de 2003 y, además, en las publicaciones posteriores (2016; 2017). Los textos-marco de cada una de dichas ediciones muestran cómo la recepción, que inicialmente se inserta en la tradición y continuidad de un momento científico académico europeo e internacional, a lo largo de cuatro décadas se afianza institucionalmente, revelando nuevos modos de leer y hacer circular la perspectiva dialógica del discurso en Brasil.Este artigo é resultado parcial de um projeto maior que busca compreender a recepção e as particularidades assumidas pelo pensamento bakhtiniano no Brasil desde sua introdução, nos anos 1970, até os dias atuais. Para isso, analisa os textos que emolduram as traduções e (re)traduções brasileiras da obra bakhtiniana, examinando quais relações dialógicas (valorativas) podem ser observadas nesses textos-moldura: com quem dialogam e a quem se dirigem no momento de sua publicação. Este trabalho analisa a recepção brasileira aos ensaios de Estética da criação verbal, nas edições de 1992 e de 1997, na (re)tradução de 2003 e, ainda, nas publicações posteriores, 2016 e 2017.
