MODES OF TRANSSEXULITY: INTERLACEMENT OF GENDER AND SEXUAL ORIENTATION

Resumo: This work has as aim analyzing the process of construction of identities of gender and sexual orientation of two professors who self-defined themselves as transsexual.  Thereunto, a qualitative research was performed by means of a solid interview with a semi-structured guide. In their own synthesis, the interviewed have explained, in meaning of transsexuality, similarities and differences between themselves, in a process of construction from: references in the media (television or cinema); from experiences with Medicine and Psychology; and from the participation in social movements. Whether the process of reflection on the identity seems to be changeable, continuous and unfinished, the heteronormative role has been a constant in school environments, with all the traps in it; this context becomes the continuity of studies a daily struggle faced by transsexual subjects.

En síntesis propias, las entrevistadas explicitaron en sus significados de transexualidad proximidades y diferencias entre ellas, en un proceso de construcción a partir: de referencias presentes en la media (televisión o cinema); de experiencias con la medicina y psicología; y de participación en movimientos sociales. Si el proceso de reflexión de identidad parece cambiable, continuo e inconcluso, o que es constante es el role del heteronormativo de los ambientes escolares, con todas las trampas en ello presentes; tal contexto torna la continuidad de los estudios una lucha cotidiana que debe ser trabada por los sujetos transexuales.Este trabalho tem por objetivo analisar o processo de construção das identidades de gênero e orientação sexual de duas professoras[1] autodefinidas transexuais[2].  Para tanto realizou-se uma pesquisa qualitativa por meio de uma densa entrevista com roteiro semiestruturado. Em sínteses próprias, as entrevistadas explicitaram, em seus significados da transexualidade, semelhanças e diferenças entre si, em um processo de construção a partir: das referências presentes na mídia (televisão ou cinema); das experiências com a medicina e psicologia; e da participação nos movimentos sociais. Se o processo de reflexão identitária parece ser mutável, contínuo e inacabado, o que tem sido uma constante é o papel heteronormativo dos ambientes escolares, com todas as armadilhas nele presentes; tal contexto torna a continuidade dos estudos uma luta cotidiana a ser travada pelos sujeitos transexuais. [1] Este artigo é recorte de uma pesquisa sobre Transexualidade e Escola produzida na Iniciação Científica em 2010 (graduação em História) e que segue na Pós-Graduação (Mestrado em Educação) com a temática sobre as representações de alunos/as a respeito da transexualidade entre professoras, sob a orientação da Profa. Dra. Tânia Mara Cruz.
