POETRY AND CHILDHOOD: THE EXPERIENCE OF PLAYING WITH WORDS

Resumo: | Thinking about the relation of the child with the poetry, or the child's play with words is the main objective of this article. Such reflections are crossed by fundamental concepts of part of the work by the German philosopher Walter Benjamin and constitute the dialogue with poetic works by Brazilian writers, such as José Paulo Paes, Manoel de Barros, Arnaldo Antunes, Ferreira Gullar, Paulo Leminski, as well as works by the Portuguese writer and illustrator Afonso Cruz, and by the French teacher, poet and writer Jean-Pierre Siméon. From these works, we try to provoke reflection on the relationship between poetry and childhood within educational institutions, asking what poets teach us and how to teach poetry to children. It implies considering the specificities of the relation that young children establish with the world and the things that inhabit it, in other words, how children learn and what we can learn from them. |

Estas reflexiones están atravesadas por conceptos fundamentales de algunas de las obras del filósofo alemán Walter Benjamin, que dialogan con las obras poéticas de escritores brasileños, como José Paulo Paes, Manoel de Barros, Arnaldo Antunes, Ferreira Gullar, Paulo Leminski, además de las obras del escritor e ilustrador portugués Afonso Cruz y el poeta y escritor francés Jean-Pierre Simeón. A partir de estas obras interesa reflexionar sobre la relación entre la poesía y la infancia en las instituciones de educación, preguntando sobre o que los poetas nos enseñan y como enseñar poesía a los niños y niñas. Ello significa considerar la especificidad de la relación que los niños y niñas pequeñas establecen con el mundo y con las cosas que habitan, es decir, como ellos o ellas aprenden y cómo podemos nosotros aprender con ellas ellos.Pensar a relação da criança com a poesia, ou a brincadeira infantil com as palavras consiste o objetivo central do presente artigo. Tais reflexões são atravessadas por conceitos fundamentais de parte da obra do filósofo alemão Walter Benjamin e constituem-se no diálogo com obras poéticas de escritores brasileiros, como José Paulo Paes, Manoel de Barros, Arnaldo Antunes, Ferreira Gullar, Paulo Leminski, além de obras do escritor e ilustrador português, Afonso Cruz e do professor, poeta e escritor francês, Jean-Pierre Siméon. A partir dessas obras, procuramos provocar a reflexão sobre a relação entre poesia e infância no interior das instituições educativas, perguntando sobre o que os poetas nos ensinam e sobre como ensinar poesia às crianças.
