SEXUAL EDUCATION AND PROFESSORS OF A MEDICINE COURSE: THE EXPERIENCE IN A CURRICULAR INNOVATION PROPOSAL

Resumo: The present essay is the result of a doctoral research which investigated the understanding of Medical professors about the human dimension of sexuality to reveal processes of sexual education lived in an integrated curriculum proposal, which was oriented by competences and developed by active methodologies. Dialectical and historical Materialism was the guiding paradigm, and it was configured in a case study that used the dialectical method to the analysis of the reality. Questionnaires and semi-structured interviews were the collection instruments. The content analysis revealed contradictions that represent sexual education processes strongly anchored by repressive paradigms of sexuality added to the paradigm of scientific medicine, which are perpetuated by hidden curricula.

El materialismo histórico dialéctico fue el paradigma orientador, configurándose en un estudio de caso que utilizó el método dialéctico para el análisis de la realidad. Los cuestionarios y entrevistas semiestructuradas comprendieron los instrumentos de recolección. El análisis del contenido reveló contradicciones que representan procesos de la educación sexual anclados fuertemente por paradigmas represores de sexualidad sumados al paradigma de la medicina científica, que se perpetúan por currículums ocultos.O presente ensaio é resultado de pesquisa de doutoramento que investigou a compreensão de docentes de Medicina sobre a dimensão humana da sexualidade para desvelar processos de educação sexual vividos numa proposta de currículo integrado, orientado por competências e desenvolvido por metodologias ativas. Materialismo histórico dialético foi o paradigma norteador, se configurando num estudo de caso que utilizou o método dialético para análise da realidade. Questionários e entrevistas semiestruturadas compreenderam os instrumentos de coleta.
