CHILDHOOD READINGS: FROM THE MIMESIS TO THE CULTURAL INDUSTRY

Resumo: With the crisis of the foundations that have supported the modern rationality, those institutions thought in the midst of modernity also come to be revisited in order to broaden the understanding of the meanings on the different contexts. This is the case of children. Therefore, this paper argues two concepts that contribute to the enlargement the sense of childhood and the alleged crisis, announced since several decades by childhood scholars. Through readings of Benjamin, Adorno and Horkheimer, we present the potential of memory and the possible influences of so-called cultural industry in the children's daily life, altering significantly his childhood experiences to demonstrate that the relationship between memory and cultural industry is closer than we think.

Ese es el caso de la infancia. De ese modo, este texto discute dos conceptos que contribuyen para la ampliación de sentido de la infancia y de la llamada crisis, anunciada desde varias décadas por los estudiosos de la infancia. Por medio de las lecturas de Benjamin, Adorno y Horkheimer, presentamos los potenciales de la memoria y las posibles influencias de la llamada industria cultural en el cotidiano de niños, alterando, de manera significativa, sus experiencias de infancia al demostrar que la relación entre memoria e industria cultural es más cercana que pensamos.Com a crise dos fundamentos que deram sustentação à racionalidade moderna, aquelas instituições pensadas no bojo da modernidade também passam a ser revisitadas, no sentido de ampliarmos a compreensão sobre os significados que assumem diferentes contextos. Esse é o caso da infância. Desse modo, este texto discute dois conceitos que contribuem para o alargamento de sentido da infância e da suposta crise, anunciada desde várias décadas pelos estudiosos da infância.
