Resumo: This study aimed to verify the microbiological parameters of the water used for consumption in public schools in São Sebastião de Lagoa de Roça/PB. The water samples intended for microbiological analyzes were collected directly from the cisterns in glass bottles (500 ml) with wide mouths, protected with laminated paper, previously sterilized in an autoclave at 121oC for 30 minutes and sent to the Laboratory of the Professional Training Center of the Albano Franco Institute of Leather and Footwear Technology (CTCC) in Campina Grande/PB. The parameters analyzed were: total coliforms, thermotolerant coliforms, Escherichia coli and heterotrophic bacteria. The samples were collected in loco and identified as samples 1, 2, 3, 4 and 5. Total coliforms, thermotolerant coliforms, E. coli and heterotrophic bacteria were not detected in the water samples collected directly from the taps. As for the water samples that were collected directly from the drinking fountains, the presence of heterotrophic bacteria was detected in two of the samples with values ​​well above those specified by the current regulation. Regarding the water samples collected directly from the cisterns, the presence of total coliforms, thermotolerant coliforms and heterotrophic bacteria was detected in one of the samples. No se detectó la presencia de E. coli en ninguna de las muestras. It is concluded that all samples collected from taps are suitable for human consumption. Two of the samples collected from the drinking fountains are not fit for human consumption. One of the samples of water collected from the cisterns is totally in disagreement with the current regulation.

Las muestras de agua destinadas a los análisis microbiológicos fueron recolectadas directamente de las cisternas en botellas de vidrio (500 ml) de boca ancha, protegidas con papel plastificado, previamente esterilizadas en autoclave a 121oC por 30 minutos y enviadas al Laboratorio del Centro de Formación Profesional de el Instituto Albano Franco de Tecnología del Cuero y del Calzado (CTCC) en Campina Grande/PB. Los parámetros analizados fueron: coliformes totales, coliformes termotolerantes, Escherichia coli y bacterias heterótrofas. Las muestras se recolectaron in situ y se identificaron como muestras 1, 2, 3, 4 y 5. No se detectaron coliformes totales, coliformes termotolerantes, E. coli y bacterias heterótrofas en las muestras de agua recolectadas directamente de los grifos. En cuanto a las muestras de agua que se recogieron directamente de los bebederos, se detectó la presencia de bacterias heterótrofas en dos de las muestras con valores muy por encima de los especificados por la normativa vigente. En cuanto a las muestras de agua recolectadas directamente de las cisternas, en una de las muestras se detectó la presencia de coliformes totales, coliformes termotolerantes y bacterias heterótrofas. No se detectó la presencia de E. coli en ninguna otra muestra. Se concluye que todas las muestras recolectadas de los grifos son aptas para el consumo humano. Dos de las muestras recogidas de los bebederos no son aptas para el consumo humano. Una de las muestras de agua recogida de las cisternas está totalmente en desacuerdo con la normativa vigente.Este trabalho teve o objetivo de verificar os parâmetros microbiológicos da água utilizada para consumo nas escolas públicas de São Sebastião de Lagoa de Roça/PB. As amostras de água destinadas para as análises microbiológicas foram coletadas, diretamente, das cisternas em garrafas de vidro (500 ml) com boca larga, protegidas com papel laminado, previamente, esterilizadas em autoclave a 121oC, por 30 minutos e foram encaminhadas para o Laboratório do Centro de Formação Profissional do Instituto Albano Franco de Tecnologia de Couro e de Calçado (CTCC) em Campina Grande/PB. Os parâmetros analisados foram: coliformes totais, coliformes termotolerantes, Escherichia coli e bactérias heterotróficas. As amostras foram coletadas in loco e identificadas como amostras 1, 2, 3, 4 e 5. Não se detectou coliformes totais, coliformes termotolerantes, E. coli e bactérias heterotróficas nas amostras de água coletadas diretamente das torneiras. Já com relação as amostras de água que foram coletadas diretamente dos bebedouros, detectou-se, em duas das amostras, a presença de bactérias heterotróficas com valores bem superiores ao que especifica a norma vigente. Com relação as amostras de água coletadas diretamente das cisternas, detectou-se a presença de coliformes totais, coliformes termotolerantes e bactérias heterotróficas em uma das amostras. Não se detectou a presença de E. coli em nenhuma das amostras. Conclui-se que todas as amostras coletadas das torneiras estão apropriadas para consumo humano. Duas das mostras coletadas dos bebedouros não estão aptas para o consumo humano.
