ANÁLISE DO GERENCIAMENTO DE RESÍDUOS DE SAÚDE DO CENTRO CIRÚRGICO DE UM HOSPITAL UNIVERSITÁRIO DE SOROCABA

Resumo: The study analyzed the management of Residues from Health Services in a surgical center of a teaching hospital in the state of São Paulo. This is a case study with a mixed approach carried out through participant observation of the processes and interviews with employees. The production of each type of waste was analyzed according to the size of procedures and failures in generation and segregation after updating health standards. It was observed that there is no correct segregation of residues A, B, D, and E inside the operating rooms and that the team does not perform the correct segregation of the RSS, due to not knowing the institutional management plan, generating increased costs by weight of waste. Improvements involve the infrastructure in the operating rooms, training of doctors, and permanent education of employees, in addition to the monitoring of segregation, including the recycling of waste D. The hospital's surgical center does not comply with the updated federal laws and the hospital waste management plan needs modifications with the involvement of all professionals.

Se trata de un caso de estudio con enfoque mixto realizado a través de la observación participante de los procesos y entrevistas con los empleados. La producción de cada tipo de residuo se analizó según el tamaño de los procedimientos y fallas en la generación y segregación luego de actualizar los estándares de salud. Se observó que no existe una correcta segregación de los residuos A, B, D y E dentro de los quirófanos y que el equipo no realiza la correcta segregación de los RSS, por desconocer el plan de manejo institucional, generando mayores costos por peso de los residuos. Las mejoras involucran infraestructura en los quirófanos, capacitación de médicos y educación permanente de los empleados, además de monitorear la segregación, incluido el reciclaje de desechos D. El centro quirúrgico del hospital no cumple con las leyes federales actualizadas y el plan de manejo. Los residuos hospitalarios necesitan modificaciones con la participación de todos los profesionales.O estudo analisou o gerenciamento de Resíduos de Serviços de Saúde em um centro cirúrgico de um hospital-escola de São Paulo. Trata-se de um estudo de caso com abordagem mista realizado por meio da observação participante dos processos e entrevista com os colaboradores. Foi analisado a produção de cada tipo de resíduo de acordo com o porte de procedimentos e as falhas na geração e segregação após a atualização de normas sanitárias. Foi observado que não há segregação correta dos resíduos A, B, D e E dentro das salas operatórias e que a equipe não realiza a correta segregação dos RSS, por desconhecer o plano de gerenciamento institucional, gerando elevação de custos por peso de resíduos. Melhorias envolvem a a infraestrutura nas salas cirúrgicas, capacitação dos médicos e educação permanente dos colaboradores, além do acompanhamento da segregação, com inclusão de reciclagem de resíduo D.
