Resumo: Objective: To analyze and compare the epidemiological profile and clinical outcomes of diabetic patients with coronaviruses in the ICU. Methodology: This is a retrospective cohort epidemiological study. The sample consisted of 271 patients divided into 102 patients in group A (with diabetes mellitus) and 169 patients in group B (not with diabetes mellitus). The data analyzed were from March to August 2020. Results: Both groups were predominantly male, and the average age was between 69 and 67 years old, with more advanced age in the diabetic group. There was a predominance in the use of MV and TQT by diabetics 63.7% and 16.7%, respectively, as well as the average time on MV. The main complications found were IRpA, ARDS and secondary infections. Diabetic patients had a greater negative outcome and longer hospital stay. Conclusion: Having diabetes associated with coronavirus infection has shown a worse prognosis. It is pertinent to take into account the need for greater attention to care for this population.
