Resumo: ABSTRACT: This article aims to analyze the work Sedition from 1817 by primary teacher Isabel Urbana Carneiro de Albuquerque Gondim (1839-1933). She is an intellectual who, through her teaching practice and bibliographical production, stood out with the production of plays, poetry and history books. This work aims to analyze a book the historical method adopted by the author, as well as her mobilization of narrative for the written production of the nation's past, especially in Rio Grande do Norte, in an intelligible and sensitive way for students. The work “Sedition of 1817” and newspapers that deal with this production were listed as central sources. This book mobilizes a reconfiguration of the methodology of history, in which family memories are listed as a resource for the construction of “historical truth”. Es una intelectual que, a través de su práctica docente y producción bibliográfica, se destacó con la producción de obras de teatro, poesía e historia. Este trabajo tiene como objetivo analizar en un libro el método histórico adoptado por la autora, así como su movilización de la narrativa para la producción escrita del pasado de la nación, especialmente en Rio Grande do Norte, de manera inteligible y sensible para los estudiantes. La obra “Sedición de 1817” y los periódicos que se ocupan de esta producción se enumeran como fuentes centrales. Este libro moviliza una reconfiguración de la metodología de la historia, en la que se enumeran los recuerdos familiares como recurso para la construcción de la “verdad histórica”. Palabras clave: Isabel Gondim, sedición 1817, memoria, escritura de la historia.Este artigo objetivo analisar a obra Sedição de 1817 de autoria da professora primária Isabel Urbana Carneiro de Albuquerque Gondim (1839-1933). Trata-se de uma intelectual que por meio exercício do magistério e pela produção bibliográfica se destacou com a produção de peças teatrais, poesias e livros de história. Esse trabalho visa analisar um livro o método histórico adotado pela autora, bem como a sua mobilização da narrativa para a produção escrita passado da nação, em especial do Rio Grande do Norte, de forma inteligível e sensível para os alunos. Foram elencados como fontes centrais a obra “Sedição de 1817” e jornais que versam acerca da dessa produção.
