PREPARATION FOR SUCCESSION PROCESS ON A AGRICULTURAL COOPERATIVE OF RIO GRANDE DO SUL

Resumo: This is on the understanding that cooperation is built into the action of all to achieve organizational and personal benefits, and considering the current market environment, the cooperative has been strengthened as a means of unity among the members. However, the succession process in this type of organization also requires planning so that does not compromise the continuity of the organization. Thus, this article aims to identify the perception of managers (directors and managers) and associates of an agricultural cooperative of Rio Grande do Sul in relation to the preparation of his succession process. For this, we adopted a qualitative and quantitative research according to the nature of the data, the descriptive about the objectives, using a case study as collection of information procedure. The results obtained show that, in relation to the exchange of president of the Cooperative, the opinions are divided, but the majority realizes that it is necessary for this to occur because of the age of the current president and the health of it. However, consider that will not be an easy task to choose a successor to take over the command of the organization. It was also found that there is a concern about the planning of this process in the Cooperative in order to be a delicate moment for the organization which needs special attention and proper planning with the development of a succession plan.

Todavia, o processo sucessório nesse tipo de organização também requer planejamento para que não comprometa a continuidade da organização. Sendo assim, este artigo tem como propósito identificar a percepção dos gestores (diretores e gerentes) e associados de uma cooperativa agrí­cola do Rio Grande do Sul em relação à preparação do seu processo sucessório. Para isso, adotou-se uma pesquisa qualitativa e quantitativa segundo a natureza dos dados, do tipo descritiva quanto aos objetivos, utilizando um estudo de caso como procedimento de coleta das informações. Os resultados obtidos mostram que, em relação à troca de presidente da Cooperativa, as opiniões estão divididas, mas a maioria percebe que é necessário que isso ocorra em razão da idade do atual presidente e da saúde do mesmo. Porém, consideram que não será uma tarefa fácil escolher um sucessor para assumir o comando da organização.
