Prayer, Love & Sex:: antagonisms and political-discursive negotiations of happiness in a prayer on TV

Resumo: In this work I discuss the political-discursive negotiations of the Prayer of Happiness, presented during the last edition of the 11th. season of Amor & Sexo (December 2018), Rede Globo's entertainment program aimed at debating issues about relationships and sexuality. The Prayer, given by the Baptist pastor Henrique Vieira, shows how religious discourses can build different visibilities in the public space. For this, I discuss the notion of religious protagonism and present prayer as a discursive genre that is organized around a request. In the sentence analyzed, we perceive how happiness is built in the statement of diversity, thematized from issues relevant both to the scope of the program and to the national political agenda at the time.

La Oración, pronunciada por el pastor bautista Henrique Vieira, muestra cómo los discursos religiosos pueden construir diferentes visibilidades en el espacio público. Para ello, discuto la noción de protagonismo religioso y presento la oración como un género discursivo que se organiza en torno a una petición. En la oración analizada, percibimos cómo se construye la felicidad en el enunciado de la diversidad, tematizado a partir de cuestiones relevantes tanto para el ámbito del programa como para la agenda política nacional del momento.Neste trabalho  discuto as negociações político-discursivas da Oração da Felicidade, apresentada durante a última edição da 11ª. temporada de Amor & Sexo (dezembro de 2018), programa de entretenimento da Rede Globo voltado para o debate de questões sobre relacionamento e sexualidade. A Oração, proferida pelo pastor batista Henrique Vieira, mostra como os discursos religiosos podem construir visibilidades distintas no espaço público. Para isso, debato a noção de protagonismo religioso e apresento a oração como um gênero discursivo que se organiza em torno de um pedido.
