Resumo: The aim of this study was to analyze the prevalence and the predictive factors associated with overweight and obesity in Community Health Agents (CHA). This is an analytical, cross-sectional study with CHA who act in the Family Health Strategy teams in the municipality of Montes Claros - Minas Gerais. Data collection occurred by on-site evaluation, containing sociodemographic, behavioral and clinical variables. The outcome variable referred to overweight and obesity, by the calculation of the body mass index. The association between the outcome variable and the independent variables was analyzed using the Poisson regression, with robust variance. 675 CHA were interviewed, half of whom presented overweight and obesity. The presence of overweight and obesity was associated with a working time greater than 5 years (RP- 1.16 - IC95% -1.03-1.31), being hypertensive (RP- 1.38 IC95% -1.23-1.55) and reporting a worse perception of the health status (RP-1.34- IC95% -1.18-1.51). It is concluded that the prevalence of overweight and obesity among CHA is worrying and most of the factors associated with the outcomes are subjected to changes when a healthy lifestyle is adopted
