Resumo: For good environmental planning it is necessary, firstly, to have the diagnosis of the area of study in hand. For this, the use of geotechnologies and mappings is a facilitator of the diagnosis and helps in the vision of future trends. In order to study the municipality of Araçatuba, it was necessary to study the economic cycles of its history, so that the process of territorial formation became clear. For this, this work used geoprocessing techniques in the Arcgis 10.1 software for the preparation of maps of geology, hydrography, land cover and use, hypsometry, clinography, and APP areas. It was possible to perceive that Araçatuba has undergone a great industrial growth, which shows its transformation of economic axis, originally agricultural, and currently based on the industry of transformation and recent sugarcane expansion. Through the geocoding of the municipal industries by the software Google Fusion Tables, it was possible to realize that the municipal environmental planning was not part of the growth of Araçatuba...

Para isto, o uso de geotecnologias e mapeamentos se mostra um facilitador do diagnóstico e auxilia na visão das tendências futuras. Para estudar o município de Araçatuba, foi necessário estudar os ciclos econômicos de sua história, de forma que o processo de formação territorial ficasse claro. Para isto, este trabalho se utilizou de técnicas de geoprocessamento no software Arcgis 10.1 para confecção das cartas de geologia, hidrografia, uso e cobertura do solo, hipsometria, clinografia, e áreas de APP. Foi possível perceber que Araçatuba vem passando por um grande crescimento industrial, o que mostra a sua transformação de eixo econômico, originalmente agropecuário, e atualmente com base na indústria de transformação e recente expansão canavieira. Através da geocodificação das indústrias municipais pelo software Google Fusion Tables, foi possível perceber que o planejamento Ambiental municipal não fez parte do crescimento de Araçatuba.
