Resumo: The dissatisfaction of the treatment with mandibular complete dentures in edentulous patients has been a constant problem in Dentistry. Often, the absence of stability and retention, resultants of a physiologic condition and alveolar ridge resorption, bring reduction of chewing force, speech problems and social life interference. In these cases, the rehabilitation over osseointegrated implants can be an effective and safe alternative of treatment. When it is not possible to put implants in appropriate number and disposition, it is necessary to make a simple and low costing prosthetic planning, which makes resurge the overdentures. Various implant supported attachment systems for overdentures have been developed in the dental market. Thus, intending to facilitate the professional choice, this study review the literature about attachment systems O’ring and bar- clip in its following aspect: retention level, stress distribution, hygiene complications and patient satisfaction.

A menudo, la falta de estabilidad y retención , como resultado de un proceso fisiológico de la reabsorción de la cresta alveolar , conduce a una reducción de las fuerzas de la masticación, problemas de dicción y prejuicios con las interacciones sociales. Así, la rehabilitación retenida por implantes dentales puede ser un tratamiento alternativo eficaz y seguro . La imposibilidad de la colocación de implantes en número y disposición adecuada para la fabricación de un protocolo de prótesis Bränemark tipo sobredentaduras presenta una alternativa viable a ser más simple y de bajo costo, mejorando , en comparación con las dentaduras postizas , la estabilidad y eficiencia masticatoria . Varios sistemas de retención utilizados en sobredentaduras sobre implantes se han desarrollado en el mercado odontológico. Por lo tanto, para facilitar la elección profesional, este estudio revisó la literatura sobre los principales sistemas de cierre : Oring y barra recta con clips, en sus siguientes aspectos: nivel de retención, distribución de tensiones, complicaciones de higiene y la satisfacción del paciente.A insatisfação do tratamento com próteses totais mandibulares nos pacientes edêntulos tem sido uma questão constante na Odontologia. Muitas vezes, a falta de estabilidade e de retenção, resultantes de um processo fisiológico e de reabsorção do rebordo alveolar, leva à diminuição na força mastigatória, problemas de dicção e interfere até mesmo no convívio social. Neste caso, a reabilitação retida por implantes osseointegrados pode ser uma alternativa eficaz e segura de tratamento. Na impossibilidade de colocação de implantes em número e disposição adequados, para a confecção de uma prótese tipo protocolo de Bränemark, as overdentures surgem como uma alternativa viável por serem mais simples e de baixo custo e melhorarem, em relação às próteses totais, a estabilidade e eficiência mastigatória. Diversos sistemas de encaixe utilizados em overdentures nos implantes têm sido desenvolvidos no mercado odontológico.
