Evasão no cursinho pré-vestibular da FCA/UNESP: a interpretação do aluno evadido

Resumo: The popular cram schools are voluntary initiatives aimed at people who are not able to afford the cost of private cram schools. The FCA popular cram school integrates a large project from UNESP, which has 30 cram school distributed throughout Sao Paulo State and located in different University units. Among the problems found in popular cram schools, school evasion, characterized when the student quits the course and is very common in this context. Thus, the aim of this work was to identify the profile of the drop out student from the FCA cram school as well as to know the reasons that led them to leave. The survey was conducted in two phases: 1) students´ profile when entering the cram school, through a structured questionnaire, 2) semi-structured interviews by telephone with all the drop out students, trying to identify the reasons that led them to abandon the course. The statistical analysis used was descriptive. Among the reasons that led them to leave, it was found that 65% of the students attributed this attitude to external factors as opposed to 35% who put the internal factors as the decisive reason of their departure. Some of the factors that could be attest for the FCA cram school evasion are: primarily, the heterogeneity of students and their need to work in order to support themselves and their family; students lack of motivation about a long-term success; lack of family encouragement; the difficulty of the student to establish significant personal links with cram school staff and the fact that the professors are mostly undergraduate students from different courses in different areas, with little didactic-pedagogic preparation and inability to work with students' heterogeneity.

El curso pre-universitario popular de la FCA integra un gran proyecto de la Universidad Estadual Paulista (UNESP), que abarca 30 cursos distribuidos en todo el estado de San Pablo, ubicados en diferentes unidades de la esta universidad. Entre los problemas detectados en los cursos pre-universitarios populares está la evasión, que se caracteriza por la retirada de los estudiantes para asistir al curso, que aparece con gran relevancia en este contexto. Así, el objetivo de este trabajo es identificar el perfil de los estudiantes evadidos del curso pre-universitario popular de la FCA, así como conocer los motivos que llevaron a la evasión. La investigación fue realizada en dos fases: 1) levantar informaciones sobre el perfil de los estudiantes que ingresan al curso pre-universitario, a través de un cuestionario estructurado, 2) entrevistas semi-estructuradas por teléfono con todos los estudiantes, que desistieron, con el intuito de identificar los motivos que llevaron a abandonar el curso. El análisis estadístico de las informaciones fue descriptiva. Entre las razones que llevaron a la evasión están: 65% de los estudiantes atribuyeron su salida a factores externos al curso, en comparación con 35% que indican los factores internos como el momento decisivo de su salida. Se puede deducir que hay varios factores responsables por la evasión en el curso pre-universitario popular de la FCA: la heterogeneidad de los estudiantes y su necesidad de buscar recursos para la subsistencia propia y familiar, sobre todo; la desmotivación de los estudiantes en relación al suceso a largo plazo; la falta de incentivo familiar; la dificultad del estudiante para establecer vínculos personales significativos con el curso y el hecho de que el curso preuniversitario enseñado por estudiantes universitarios de diferentes cursos del área de agrarias, con poca preparación didáctico-pedagógica, y la incapacidad para relacionarse con la heterogeneidad de los estudiantes.Os cursinhos pré-vestibulares populares são iniciativas voluntárias voltadas às pessoas que não possuem condições de arcar com os custos dos cursinhos particulares. O cursinho pré-vestibular popular da FCA integra um projeto amplo da UNESP (Universidade Estadual Paulista), que abrange 30 cursinhos distribuídos por todo o estado de São Paulo e localizados nas diferentes unidades dessa universidade. Dentre os problemas encontrados nos cursinhos populares, a evasão – que é caracterizada pela desistência do aluno em frequentar o curso – aparece com grande relevância nesse contexto. Sendo assim, neste estudo buscou-se identificar o perfil dos alunos evadidos do cursinho pré-vestibular da FCA, bem como conhecer os motivos que os levaram a evadir. A pesquisa foi realizada em duas fases: 1) levantamento do perfil dos alunos ingressantes do cursinho, por meio de questionário estruturado; 2) entrevistas semi-estruturadas por telefone com todos os alunos evadidos, visando à identificação do(s) motivo(s) que os levaram a abandonar o cursinho. A análise estatística dos dados utilizada foi a descritiva. Com relação aos motivos que os levaram a evadir, verificou-se que 65% dos alunos atribuíram sua saída a fatores externos ao cursinho, ao contrário de 35% que colocaram os fatores internos como decisivos no momento de sua saída.
