The presence of Candida genus yeasts and staphylococci in the human oral cavity is very important because they can act as supplementary microbiota and in certain situations can cause oral or systemic diseases. The aim of this study was to correlate the presence of Candida genus yeasts and species of staphylococci in the human oral cavity. Oral riinsings were colected from 70 people and the cultived in Sabouraud glucose agar with chloramphenicol and Baird-Parker ágar. After the incubation period, the microrganisms were isolated and identified through biochemical tests. The Candida genus yeasts were found in 71,42% of the examined people, and C.albicans were isolated from 92,85% of the oral cavities. Fourty-one Staphylococcus negative for coagulase (63%) were found. Among the Staphylococcus samples positive for coagulase nine were S.aureus, 11 S.hyicus and four S.schleiferi subspecies coagulans. There was no correlation between the quantities (cfu) of Candida and staphylococci isolated from the oral rinsings of the examined people
