Pain is a symptom of alarm, in common diseases and negative impact on people's lives, who seek alternatives to his relief, acupuncture is used for the analgesic effect. The literature questions whether the quality of their lives, habits, anxiety and pain levels changed after the beginning of acupuncture. The objective was to descriptively analyze these parameters in patients undergoing treatment at the Center for Diagnosis and Treatment of Temporomandibular Disorders who underwent acupuncture therapy, between January and July 2012. Data were collected through surveys with yes / no answers, directed at the quality of life, food and comorbidities, parafunctional habits, alcohol consumption and tobacco expectancy and quality of life compared to treatment with acupuncture. Met the expectations of all patients, 90% reported pain relief, decreased anxiety and improved quality of life. 45% reported elimination habits. It was concluded that acupuncture was effective in reducing pain, quality of life, decreased habits and decreased anxiety of patients, meeting their expectations
