Resumo: This work discusses about the possibility of rubber tire residues in asphalt pavements as small diameter aggregate, with the objective of promoting the closure of the mixture, allowing the execution of a monolayer coating of flexible and stable behavior. It also addresses the issue of cost reduction in the execution of pavements as well as the reduction of water capacity to infiltrate its structure. In a simplified way, an environmental issue is presented behind the theme, in which old tires are used, without being discarded in the environment, to improve traffic conditions on highways and roads. In the experimental part, the work proposes a series of exploratory tests to evaluate the characteristics of the rubber residue in cold asphalt mixtures and their behavior when associated with emulsions in a way different from what is currently in the literature

Aborda também a questão de diminuição do custo na execução dos pavimentos bem como a diminuição da capacidade da água de se infiltrar na sua estrutura. De forma simplificada é apresentada uma questão ambiental envolvida por trás do tema, na qual utiliza-se os pneus velhos, sem devido descarte no ambiente, para melhorar as condições de tráfego nas rodovias e estradas.
