The Zenaida auriculata is a species of bird that in recent decades has attracted attention because of its relationship with agricultural activity. It has been considered in many places, such as in Brazil and in other countries such as Argentina and Paraguay, a pest in areas of agricultural crops such as wheat, rice, corn, millet, soy, among others. Therefore, research on the reproductive biology of this species has become very important. In addition, it has also gained interest in urbanized regions, where its abundance can reach high levels. The scarcity of information related to behavior, ecology, as well as reproductive success in these urbanized areas makes ways of population control and management difficult. This work aims to obtain information about the reproductive success of Zenaida auriculata, through the counting of eggs and chicks and their survival probabilities and mortality rates. Thus, the aim is to expand knowledge about the species, having as its study area the campus of the Universidade Estadual Paulista “Júlio de Mesquita Filho” in Rio Claro, São Paulo. Through observations and data obtained in previous years, 30 nests were monitored. The probability of survival of eggs and chicks during the period of permanence in the nests was, respectively, 80% and 76%. Thanks to these results, it is also possible to draw comparisons regarding the reproduction of other species that also reproduce in urban places. The information collected in this work increases the knowledge about Zenaida auriculata, especially in urban areas where information is more scarce, and can help future research related to this species of bird.
