The purpose of this paper is to discuss the contribution of Information and Communication Technologies (ICT) in the teaching-learning process of Mathematics. Initially, a literature review was searched for references, reflections and guidelines for the use of ICT in education. Based on these considerations, a didactic sequence was elaborated for some topics on Information Processing for the classroom of the final years of Elementary School. This sequence includes a contextualized activity in the classroom and another activity in the computer lab with the aid of spreadsheets. Supported in this sequence, classroom interventions were carried out with the 8th grade students from a partner school of the state public network. The students reported through the records of our conversations and the answers to the questionnaires the importance of classes with a different approach from the traditional one, which according to them, helps in learning the studied contents. Also, it was possible to verify through the diagnostic and final evaluations that the students presented a significant improvement in relation to the mathematical content. Experience is presented as a case study, and it can be seen that ICTs stimulate and motivate students, providing them with means of complementing studies, enabling interactivity and promoting socialization. Finally, we highlight that ICT activities promote digital inclusion, observing that in this case, about two-thirds of the students had not previously used a spreadsheet
