Pênfigo vulgar: acompanhamento de 5 anos

Pemphigus vulgaris is an autoimmune disease with a vesico-bullous character that affects the skin and mucosa presenting painful symptomatology. Antibodies attacks desmoglein 1 and 3 present in the desmosomes, structures responsible for the intercellular adhesion. The aim of this study is to perform a case report on pemphigus vulgaris in 5-year follow-up in a 33-year-old female, leucoderma, who was referred to our service with desquamative gingivitis. In the intrabuccal physical examination it was possible to observe ulcers that according to the patient had appeared about two months ago. The lesions were located in the superior and inferior inserted gingiva, presenting inflammation and sensitive to the touch. Among the findings, the differential diagnoses were: herpetic gingivostomatitis, benign mucous pemphigoid, erythema multiforme minor and pemphigus vulgaris. Incisional biopsy was performed and the result of the histopathological analysis was compatible with pemphigus vulgaris. The patient was referred to the specialized treatment because it was a systemic disease. We can conclude that the treatment is multidisciplinary and the prognosis is linked to the clinical aspect at the time of diagnosis of the disease
