Resumo: Mass spectrometry is a diagnosis that might aid in the understanding of the chemical kinetic of the plasma. Through this technique may obtain information on some species in the environment and make partial inferences about the plasma behavior when parameters such as pressure and applied power are changed. It was also used the technique of electrostatic measurements using Langmuir probe that contributed with information for understanding the physical and chemical processes of the plasma. To be analyzed and compared, the information obtained by these techniques expose the relationship between the behavior of the species present in the plasma and the energy characteristics of the electronic population. The conditions under which the diglyme plasma is generated were found between 50 and 220 mTorr for operating pressure and from 0 to 40 W of applied power. Within these intervals were observed several species from the discharge, and accompanied the 1, 15, 28, 31, 44, 59, 75 and 134 a.m.u, fragments corresponding to the H, CH3, CH2CH2, CH3O, CH2CH2O, CH3OCH2CH2, CH3OCH2CH2O and CH3OCH2CH2OCH2CH2OCH3 (diglyme molecule), respectively. It was observed that with increased power, the electron temperature ranging from 1.7 to 2.45 eV and less massive species show a stronger relative increase. Opposite behavior was observed with increasing operating pressure. In these plasmas generated by diglyme discharge, polymers were synthesized in the form of thin films and characterized by goniometric technique and infrared spectroscopy, presenting hydrophilic surfaces with contact angles between 20 and 65 degree and CH bonds in ranges 2960 to 2900 cm-1 and 1450-1380 cm-1, C=O in 1750 at 1650 cm-1 and OH groups between 3600 and 3200 cm-1 in their chains. Thus, a relationship between the plasma phase and the formed polymer can be made to help the understanding of the deposition processes

Thus, a relationship between the plasma phase and the formed polymer can be made to help the understanding of the deposition processesA espectrometria de massa é um diagnóstico que pode auxiliar na compreensão da cinética química do meio plasma.
