The adaptation of methods and research's techniques in Geosciences is increasing in front on diversity of objects of study and subareas that have emerged in recent years. The geophysics is a science that studies geologic materials, structures and layers, are constituents of the Earth, through intrinsic physics parameters analyses as density, radioactivity, among other, using instruments that allow indirect measures that arranged on the surface enables investigations into hundreds meters of depth. The Spontaneous Potential is a geophysical method based on the phenomenon of generation of natural electric potential from various physical and chemical processes. Variations of oxidation potential are commons during the degradation process of organic matter contained in waste disposed in landfills. This study proposes the development of a static monitoring of the electric potential natural, generated by the decomposition of organic matter contained in waste disposed in landfill of Rio Claro (SP), crossing the measures of biogas with natural electric potential measures, obtained by geophysical profiling technique. The physical parameters were sensitive to biogas flow variables, which indicate the feasibility of geophysical studies in planning systems to biogas capture for energy generation
